2019 CPYB Chairman's Award

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL - The Certification Advisory Council (CAC), that oversees the Certified Professional Yacht Broker program and is supported by the seven (7) North American yacht brokers associations, is proud to present the 2019 Chairman's Award to Carmine Galati Sr., founder of Galati Yacht Sales. Staley Weidman, Chairman of the CPYB program stated, "This award represents the highest level of commitment for truly elevating the professionalism of the yacht brokerage industry. Galati Yacht Sales has had more brokers become certified in the last two years than any other firm in North America. Carmine sets a great example of how breaking the patterns of the typical yacht brokerage house format benefits the buying public and any member of the industry doing business with his firm."

Carmine is truly dedicated to the advancement of the maritime industry, has and continues to serve, as a sales mentor, promoting education, training, and product knowledge. He serves on the IYBA Board of Directors and is active on multiple committees. Carmine’s support of several charitable organizations includes the Pediatric Cancer Foundation, the Ronald McDonald House, the Tigger Foundation, the Billfish Foundation, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Foundation. Although Carmine is engaged in the daily business operations of Galati Yacht Sales, he still finds time to work on initiatives to enhance the marine industry and create pathways for success.

In response to receiving the award, Carmine stated "It has always been a passion and strong belief of mine that in order to succeed and grow we must embrace continual improvement as well as knowledge, professionalism, morals and ethics. The CPYB program gives us the platform to both test and inspire the principals in our sales team. We at Galati's require the certification for all our sales team."

About CPYB: Since 1999, the CPYB program has been the industry performance standard for yacht sales professionals throughout North America. A program Design Team of industry volunteers worked with the National Occupational Competency Testing Institute to define the industry's body of knowledge - the key performance skills and knowledge required to be a Certified Professional Yacht Broker. The team then crafted the certification exam, comprised of over 150 questions, serving as the objective measurement of the applicant's knowledge. There are currently more than 400 members of the CPYB program residing in the United States and Canada.
